Welcome Mama

Today, my mom arrived in this grand city called Boston. I enjoyed greeting her in the airport and then realized just how much I had missed face to face interaction with people I love and know, who also love and know me in return. Boston and Cambridge through my mom's eyes was sweet experience alongside of her. She marveled at, and still continues to, the public transportation system, the little restaurants on every bustling corner, the fall leaves, the public parks. At one point she even said, "I see why you don't want to move back to Jacksonville." Not that Tallahassee triumphs over Jacksonville, but there is something enchanting about all of these things that bigger cities hold. And I would say, for me, bigger cities that experience all four seasons, hold.

We walked across the Longfellow Bridge, which links Cambridge to Boston, I then napped while she read in Boston Common, and we grabbed two meals in between and did lots of chatting. Lots. I feel as if I am almost at my word quota for the day now.

Tonight I sat on the balcony of our B & B while talking to a special friend, and the cool air and quiet hum of the suburb was nice. Now, I am off to relax with my mama and rest deeply and anticipate the adventures to come tomorrow.
